Offers a working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, database management, outlining, and graphics. Includes the use of programs in accounting techniques, word processing, and management science applications.

**Course Descriptions**
ECDS Career Centers offers classes that focus on reading, writing, and basic mathematics to help individuals become workforce-ready for positions such as stock clerks, warehousing, and other inventory-related jobs.
The Adult Literacy courses also include:

- Financial Literacy (covering basic banking to investments)

**General Course Purpose**
Home health workers are in high demand. These professionals provide personalized care to individuals in their homes, focusing on those who are ill, disabled, or elderly. Their daily living assistance includes tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, light housekeeping, and monitoring health. They also report any changes in a client's health to healthcare professionals, such as licensed nurses.
**Course Description**
Healthcare courses are conducted by qualified professionals in both our classrooms and healthcare facilities. Students will gain knowledge about the duties and responsibilities of home health workers, which include personal care, medication reminders, checking vital signs, providing companionship, and ensuring a safe environment at home.
Total 4 Hours per week
Please note that this is not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. However, it is open to CNAs who wish to train at our center as home health professionals and become part of our referral program.
**General Course Purpose**
Landscape management prepares students for careers in landscape design, construction, maintenance, and management.
**Course Description**
The Horticulture and Landscaping course is taught by ECDS professionals through hands-on training, fieldwork, and the use of landscaping management software.
The course will cover first aid and safety, landscape plan reading and safety, plant selection and planting, turf installation, landscape equipment safety and maintenance, irrigation system components, edger installation, and pest management.

**General Course Purpose**
The Hospitality Management program prepares trainees for positions in hotels as guest service representatives, front office supervisors, managers, sales and marketing professionals, and event planners. The knowledge and skills acquired can also be transferred to the restaurant, food and beverage, and healthcare industries, particularly with an emphasis on dietary nutrition.
**Course Description**
This course identifies and addresses the needs of local and surrounding business leaders to fill job vacancies with individuals who possess the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes for effective customer interaction. Hospitality Management emphasizes both Customer Relationship Management and Employer Relationship Management, fostering loyalty among clients and employees.

The course in Entrepreneurial/Small Business Management aims to enhance the skills of current and future managers within the small business sector of the economy. Students will develop an understanding of the unique challenges faced by small businesses and explore possible solutions. Small businesses often experience a high failure rate; approximately four out of five firms do not survive beyond ten years. Most failures are attributed to inadequate capital, ineffective management skills, and personal shortcomings. This course provides students with the opportunity to identify, understand, and address the issues faced by small businesses. Additionally, students will gain knowledge of techniques, particularly through the use of computer software and social media, and acquire information that is beneficial to small businesses.

Presents information establishing financial and administrative controls, developing a marketing strategy, managing business operations, and the legal and government relationships specific to small businesses.

**General Course Purpose**
The ECDS Career Center plans to offer Industrial Arts as one of our premier training programs. This program will combine the techniques and principles of basic construction and carpentry. In rural communities like ours, the Industrial Arts program will be valuable for our revitalization efforts. All classes will be taught under the direct supervision of licensed construction professionals.
**Course Description**
Subjects taught will include safety, mathematics, and proper usage of hand and power tools. Upon successful completion of the training, interested students will be considered candidates for paid apprenticeship projects.

This course teaches the skills, principles, and techniques needed to effectively manage people at the operational level. It is designed for students who will engage directly with individuals to achieve quality outcomes.
**Course Description**
The course covers the fundamentals of supervision, including the primary responsibilities of a supervisor. It introduces key factors related to the work of supervisors and their subordinates. Topics include leadership, job management, work improvement, training and orientation, performance evaluation, and fostering effective relationships between
employees and supervisors.
